Burns ClubsCumnock Burns Club was founded in 1887 and met in the Dumfries Arms Hotel. One of the most distinguished members of the club was Adam Brown Todd (1822-1915) a newspaper editor and poet, who was Chairman at the Club in 1909 when it celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns.
The Cumnock Burns Club was founded after the Winsome Willie Club - which dated from 1856. Other Clubs include Cumnock Cronies Burns Club, Tam Samson Burns Club and the Jolly Beggars Burns Club
